Get trusted information and expert answers to the most common immigration queries. We simplify the process and guide you every step of the way.

Why should I hire a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)?

Hiring an RCIC ensures your immigration application is handled by a licensed professional authorized by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). We understand Canadian immigration law, program eligibility, and legal documentation. A licensed immigration consultant can help avoid costly errors and improve your chances of success with applications such as Express Entry, Spousal Sponsorships, Visitor Visas, Work Permits, and more.

What is the difference between RCIC and RCIC-IRB?

An RCIC is authorized to submit applications to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), including PR, Study Permits, LMIAs, and Sponsorships. An RCIC-IRB is a specially certified consultant authorized to appear before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB). This includes legal representation in refugee claims (RPD), appeals (RAD and IAD), and admissibility hearings (ID). We at Career Wings Immigration are proud RCIC-IRB license holders.

What is the IRB and what can an RCIC-IRB do?

The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) is an independent tribunal that handles refugee protection claims, immigration appeals, and hearings. An RCIC-IRB can legally represent clients in all divisions: Refugee Protection Division (RPD), Refugee Appeal Division (RAD), Immigration Division (ID), and Immigration Appeal Division (IAD). Our RCIC-IRB consultants guide clients through all stages of the hearing process.

Do you assist with refugee protection claims?

Yes. We prepare and submit refugee claims, assist with hearing preparation, country condition research, and legal documentation. We represent clients before the IRB for RPD hearings and also file appeals with the RAD or assist with PRRA applications when needed. We ensure refugee claimants are fully informed and supported throughout.

Can I appeal a sponsorship refusal or removal order?

Yes, through the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD). If you’ve received a spousal or parental sponsorship refusal, a removal order, or a finding of non-compliance with residency obligations, we can represent you in filing an appeal. We gather evidence, prepare legal submissions, and advocate for your rights at the IAD.

What is a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) and how can you help?

A Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) is issued when IRCC has concerns about your application (e.g., misrepresentation or inadmissibility). It is your legal right to respond before a decision is made. We assist in drafting strong, legally sound responses that clarify facts and support your immigration goals.

What is a Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) Application?

H&C applications are for individuals who do not qualify under standard immigration categories but face exceptional hardship. We submit detailed, compassionate legal arguments based on best interests of children, establishment in Canada, medical needs, and family ties. These are complex but winnable with strong representation.

Can you help with judicial review in Federal Court?

While RCICs cannot represent clients in Federal Court directly, we collaborate with immigration lawyers to prepare timelines, supporting documents, and case files for judicial reviews. We also guide clients through pre-judicial steps including reconsideration requests and IRB-level appeals.

Do you handle urgent or emergency immigration cases?

Yes. We prioritize time-sensitive matters like refugee hearings, detention reviews, removal orders, and H&C deadlines. We offer emergency consultations, weekend support, and fast turnaround for urgent immigration legal needs.

Do you help international students with university or college admissions in Canada?

Absolutely. We assist international students in securing admission to Canadian Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs), including public colleges and universities. We guide students in program selection, admission documentation, and preparing strong Study Permit applications that align with IRCC requirements. We also advise on SDS and non-SDS streams, financial documentation, and future PR pathways.

Can you help me extend my Study Permit, Work Permit, or Visitor Visa inside Canada?

Yes. We provide expert services for in-Canada extension applications, including Study Permit Extensions, Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP), Spousal Open Work Permits (SOWP), and Visitor Record extensions. Our consultants ensure timely submissions, strong supporting documents, and compliance with IRCC and immigration policy requirements to help you maintain legal status in Canada.

Do you assist employers with Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA)?

Yes. We work closely with Canadian employers to prepare and submit LMIA applications under both high-wage and low-wage streams. We ensure that all recruitment efforts, job advertisements, and compliance documentation meet Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) standards. A valid LMIA allows employers to hire foreign workers for positions that are difficult to fill locally.
