Work Permits in Canada

Canada offers a range of work permits for individuals seeking to work temporarily within the country. Our expert team simplifies the process, ensures accuracy, and increases your chances of approval. We don’t just guide you – we empower you to succeed. Below, we outline the primary categories of work permits in Canada.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

PGWP allows international students who have graduated from a recognized post secondary institution in Canada to gain work experience. This permit can be issued for a period equal to the length of the study program (up to a maximum of 3 years).

Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP)

SOWP enables the spouse or common-law partner of certain temporary residents in Canada such as eligible international students or skilled workers to work for any employer without the need for a job offer or LMIA. Applications for an SOWP can be submitted from within or outside Canada, provided the sponsoring spouse holds valid status and meets the applicable eligibility criteria.

LMIA Based Work Permit

An LMIA based work permit allows an individual to work for a specific employer in Canada under the conditions outlined in the permit, including job title, location, and salary. We can help both the employee and employer navigate LMIA process and filing work permit application.

International Mobility Program (IMP)

IMP is for foreign workers who are exempt from the LMIA process. This includes workers covered under various free trade agreements, such as the CUSMA (Canada-United States- Mexico Agreement), as well as those coming to Canada for intra-company transfers.

Vulnerable Worker Open Work Permit

Vulnerable Worker Open Work Permit is designed for workers who are experiencing abuse or are at risk in the workplace. This permit allows workers to leave abusive situations and seek new employment opportunities.

Work Permit Extension

A Work Permit Extension allows temporary foreign workers in Canada to legally continue their  employment beyond the initial period authorized in their original permit. To remain in status, an extension application must be submitted before the current permit expires.

Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP)

A BOPW allows eligible applicants to continue working in Canada while awaiting a decision on their permanent residence application. This permit is available to individuals who have submitted a complete application under specific permanent residence categories, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, or Provincial Nominee Program.

Each Work Permit Has Unique Requirements – We Make Sure You Qualify
