Super Visa

Canada Super Visa

The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to visit Canada for extended periods. Unlike a standard visitor visa, the Super Visa can be valid for up to 10 years and allows stays of up to 2 years at a time without needing to renew status. It is designed to facilitate longer visits for family reunification, making it easier for families to spend significant time together in Canada.

It offers a more extended stay compared to a regular visitor visa, with a validity of up to 10 years and the possibility to stay for up to 2 years per visit without needing to renew. To qualify, applicants must provide an invitation letter from their Canadian child or grandchild, proof of sufficient financial support, and private medical insurance from a Canadian provider.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Relationship: You must be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Invitation Letter: You must have an invitation letter from your child or grandchild, who must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. The letter should include details about the visit and confirm that they will provide financial support.
  • Proof of Financial Support: Your child or grandchild must demonstrate that they can financially support you during your stay. This includes providing proof of income or a letter from their employer.
  • Health Insurance: You must have private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that covers at least $100,000 in medical expenses and is valid for at least one year from the date of entry into Canada.
  • Other Requirements: You must meet general visitor visa requirements, including having no criminal record and demonstrating that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.
